What do you say on Valentine Day,
To your wife of forty-one years?
Do you speak of the joy and the love you share?
Do you mention the sorrow or tears?
As I think of the past and our youth,
And the carefree times that we knew,
When the world was full of adventure,
And the excitement of living with you.
I think of your radiant beauty,
When you were first a mother to be,
With a face like that of an angel,
You had a son for me.
I think of the son that followed,
And the joy he brought to our world,
And the expression of joy that abounded,
With the birth of our beautiful girl.
I think of the years that followed,
As if they were yesterday,
And my heart is filled with love,
As each of my thoughts display
Just to say "Happy Valentine Day" ,
To such a wonderful wife,
To the one who's been the meaning,
And inspiration in my life,
Seems so inappropriate,
That I wish I knew a way,
To express the rush of love I feel,
On this very special day.
But unfortunately I do not,
So inappropriately I say,
I love you very much,
On this very special day.
